Hello everyone,
In our blog we will be discussing various topics involving the Natural Science department at Michigan State University. These topics will include different majors and what they entail when it comes to school and the real world. We will be uncovering the myths and the truths of these jobs using interviews, memes, personal experience, and so on, we hope you enjoy them and learn something along the way as well.
The people involved:
Garrett Mulanix: I am a Plant Biology major from Grand Rapids, Michigan, interested in the sustainability of forest ecosystems. I've always had a love for the outdoors and want to use my major to find better uses of water and plant genetics to preserve land for forests, instead of using the land for farming or urban development, so future generations can enjoy nature as well.
Expery Omollo: I am a Biochemistry & Molecular Biology/Biotechnology major from Nairobi, Kenya interested in the research field. Solving epidemics through research has always been my dream. With the knowledge and experience from a research major, I believe i'll be in the perfect position to live my career. Currently, am learning more of what is in the research field, laws of the science field and the kind with the aim of being a biochemist at the end. I'll be giving insights about the field of biochemistry as a whole in this blog.
Jarrett Graham: I am a Pre-Dental and Microbiology major from Detroit, MI. I am interested in finding the cause of gum disease for humans. I love to sit down for long periods of time and analyze the cause of problems to solve them. I like to study viruses and bacteria because later I want to help stop them before they become a huge epidemic. I hope to pass down my interest to others that would like to become Scientists like myself.
Robert Mora: I am a Neuroscience major from Grand Blanc, Michigan. I am interested in attending dental school. It has always been a dream of mine to open my own practice and help others be confident with their smile. My goal is to find efficient ways to treat oral issues at a cheaper cost. Unfortunately, many people can not afford to go to the dentist which can cause serious health problems. By finding efficient and cheaper techniques everyone will be able to go without a hole in their pocket.
Alex Wallace: I am a Human Biology major from Saginaw, MI. I would like to be an M.D. at this point but have no clear preference on which specialty. I have a knack for solving problems and problem solving is enjoyable. Though I do not have a clear end goal, one thing is for certain, I want to make use of my life to help others and improve their lives.
