Plant Biologist Code of Ethics

Plant Biology has a group called American Society of Plant Biologists, it is made up of scientists devoted to the study and advancement of the plant sciences.  Scientists within ASPB study various sectors including cellular and molecular biology, genetics, development, evolution, physiology and biochemistry.  Within each area of study,  research is done for nearly every industry, government and non-government.  They publish two journals that are read worldwide, Plant Physiology and The Plant Cell.  In 1926, they began printing Plant Physiology, which is now one of the oldest and most famous scientific journals, and began printing The Plant Cell in 1989, which is mainly about primary research in the plant sciences.
The goal of the American Society of Plant Biologists when it was founded in 1924 by a few plant physiologists, was to promote the development of plant biology and encourage public and scientific interest within the topic.  The group is open to scientists from any nation and organization, interested in what the purposes of the society are, and who apply their knowledge and research to pay some sort of contribution to the society.   The laws of the group mainly consist of what it takes to stay a part of the society and how to stay on track with the goals of the society.  There is a counsel for the society, it is made up of heads of any sector of research that is a part of the society, if there is not enough people to represent the sector, that sector of the counsel will be eliminated.  Overall the group is for the betterment of the future within the plant sciences, for more knowledge on and the source of this information, please visit the American Society of Plant Biologists page.
